Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a treatment that involves breathing oxygen in a pressurized environment, typically inside a special chamber called a hyperbaric chamber.

HOW IT WORKS
During an HBOT session, you enter the hyperbaric chamber, and the air pressure is gradually increased to levels greater than what we experience at sea level. This increased pressure allows your lungs to take in a much higher concentration of oxygen compared to breathing oxygen at regular atmospheric pressure.
You will typically wear a mask or cannula to inhale the oxygen.
Our staff will regularly monitor you and your process
Your session will last 60 minutes and our staff will handle the de-pressurisation and exit smoothly and professionally
The benefits of the Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber Therapy
The physiological benefits of HBOT makes it the go-to therapy for the atheletic community but is also widely adopted as part of the treatment plan for people suffering with chronic illnesses, pain and fatigue.
IMPROVING ONE’S DAILY PERFORMANCE
HBOT provides for an influx of energy. As oxygen has a direct relationship to the amount of ATP (cellular energy) produced, it increases energy and provides strength providing you with the ability to perform tasks better.
REGENERATION FOR BETTER IMMUNITY
When your blood carries extra oxygen it fights bacteria and stimulates the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells throughout your body essentially increasing good cells that fight infections and killing old and poor functioning cells. This accelerates healing and recovery. They therapy has extensively been known to aid in bone & muscle regeneration, and heal wounds & scars.
PROVIDES PROTECTION
HBOT provides for a strong push of antioxidant enzymes providing your body with the much needed protection against illnesses such as cardiac arrest, liver damage, chronic pain, chronic fatigue, arthritis etc. Studies have shown the earlier you start the treatment, the better.
The increased absorption of oxygen by the blood plasma helps heal damaged brain tissue, increases blood flow to your brain and reduces inflammation in the brain. This not only leaves you feeling rejuvenated and calm after your session but can also enhance your learning & memory capabilities, concentration and ability to multitask. HBOT can be considered as a more natural option that aids in the management of depression, stress, anxiety and general mental clarity. When HBOT is used in conjuction with treatment for long-term brain conditions such as alzeihmers, dementia, tumors, parkinson etc., it has been shown to improve cognitive and motor function.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND IMPROVEMENT IN ONE’S COGNITIVE HEALTH
HBOT has been noted for increasing the levels of of BDNF (Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor), BMSC (Bone Marrow Stem Cells) and restores mitochondrail function in brain cells - all of which are released during the growth of new brain tissue and neurogenesis (the production of brand new brain cells).
BDNF is a protein that is released in the process of neurogenesis (the production of brand new brain cells). Studies have shown that even low pressures were able to cause significant increases in BDNF. This protein is vital to learning and memory, and mental clarity. Neurogenesis has been shown to be significantly enhanced through the application of Oxygenation therapy, particularly following trauma to the brain or the central nervous system.
HBOT restores mitochondrial function releasing HIF (hypoxic induced factor 1alpha) which can initiate the processes to cope with stress, anxiety etc.
Mobilization of BMSCs were shown to be improved with sessions of HBOT, which is crucial for pro-neurogenic (nervous system growth) effects.
HBOT protects the neurons after a traumatic injury.
HBOT treatment can aid in combating age-related concerns. The extra oxygen from the treatment is essential for producing new tissues and blood vessels, which fights the degenerative effects aids in the process of wound healing, scar treatment, and supports the recovery of other cosmetic therapies and treatments.
One of the main mechanisms of action in providing HBOT is the body’s compensation and ability to increase its natural antioxidant defences. In return, the body is geared at handling current influx of stressors, including dietary and environmental stressors, prmoting healthy ageing. HBOT is also clincially been shown to increase Telomere length by 20-38% - several age related diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, alzeihmers are linked to shortened telemores.
Ultraviolet (UV) exposure is a major cause of skin aging and skin malignancies. The use of HBOT and hyperoxia conditions has been found to attenuate the formation of wrinkles from UV irradiation. Receiving regular treatments of HBOT is thought to increase skin elasticity and stimulate collagen production. Oxygen is used in skin care because it is thought that delivery of natural oxygen increases cell metabolism which has led to the widespread usage for the process of skin rejuvenation.
After aesthetic treatments, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) may play a significant role in the healing process. By increasing oxygen delivery to tissues, it supports the body's natural healing mechanisms. The benefits include the promotion of collagen formation, reduction of inflammation, faster wound healing, and improved blood flow to treated areas. HBOT may also minimizes complications, serving as a complementary therapy that enhances the overall recovery experience.
Hyperbaric oxygen should not be considered as a substitute for medical care advised by a medical professional.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is not safe for everyone.
In general, you shouldn't receive HBOT if you:
Have a cold or a fever
Have had recent ear surgery or injury
Do not like small enclosed spaces (claustrophobia)
Have certain types of lung diseases, because of an increased risk for a collapsed lung
If you are pregnant
To ensure you receive a safe treatment process you will be monitored throughout.
