Before Your Blood Test:

If your consultant or nutritionist has recommended a specific blood test, expect a comprehensive test kit from the laboratory, including all essentials. Here's a quick guide:

1. Book your appointment online: We operate on Mondays - Wednesdays between 9 am - 1 pm to ensure optimal delivery times to overseas laboratories.

2. Bring your test kit and contents: Your private blood test kit includes a requisition form, test preparation instructions, sample collection instructions, and equipment. Don't forget to freeze the ice pack if it's included.

3. Organize postal or courier services: If your test requires overseas delivery, book a morning appointment and arrange for courier pick up the same afternoon.

On the Day:

Remember to bring all information in your test kit, including the requisition form, for a smooth and successful test, without the requisition form we will not be able to carry out the blood draw.

Important Tips:

1. Stay hydrated: Boost your fluid intake the night before, and wear something warm on the day of your appointment to make your veins more visible.

2. Medications and supplements: Consult your healthcare professional about whether to continue or stop any medication or supplements before the test.

3. Fasting: If fasting is required, book an early appointment, and bring a snack and drink for after.

4. Fear of needles: Let our phlebotomist know about any fears or fainting history for a comfortable experience.

5. Bleeding disorders or blood thinning medications: Inform your phlebotomist if you have any bleeding disorders or are taking blood-thinning medication.

6. Numbing cream: Apply numbing cream on both inner elbows at least 1.5 hours before your appointment for a more comfortable blood draw. Cover the area lightly with cling film after application.

Please note that at The Hale Clinic, we do not offer refunds for unsuccessful blood test appointments. This policy applies to situations where the blood draw was unsuccessful due to difficult veins, issues with the test kit, or any other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. When you book an appointment with us, a slot is reserved specifically for you, and our dedicated nurse will make every effort to ensure a successful blood draw. However, despite their expertise and efforts, challenges may arise that prevent a successful draw. While we strive for excellence, we cannot guarantee a 100% success rate for blood draws, as issues beyond our control may occasionally occur. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation regarding our policy.
